Goodwill Industries - Essex, Kent, Lambton

Services

Goodwill's purpose is to assist members in the community in becoming employable, and in finding employment. It does this by providing job placement and counselling centres, by operating training programs, and by hiring people into its own operations to learn useful skills.

Goodwill particularly emphasizes helping people with developmental disabilities or other disadvantages to gain confidence, skills, and independence. Goodwill Industries, in fact, employs more people with disabilities than any other private-sector business in the world.

All Goodwill's services are free of charge.

To raise money for its services, Goodwill takes in donated clothing and other articles. It processes these for sale in its own stores, as well as to businesses and to overseas buyers.
