Description

The Canadian Red Cross’Meals On Wheels service provides affordable, nutritious, home delivered meals. Meals are delivered to seniors, convalescents, chronically ill and physically or mentally disabled individuals. They can be set up on a temporary or long term basis. Many families rely on this program to continue living independently with the assurance of a healthy diet.

Length of Commitment

Meals are delivered Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. It takes approxiametly two hours for volunteers to complete the routes. Volunteer scheduling is flexible.

Skills Required

• Non-judgemental, punctual and friendly
• Good communication skills to deal with a diverse clientelle base
• If driving, a valid drivers license and use of their own vehicle
• Must pass a personal police check
