Description

Door-to-Door transportation provided for the frail, elderly and disabled in the community. Trips can be arranged for local and out of town destination. These trips include medical appointments, groceries, hair dressing appointments, etc. The Canadian Red Cross supplies the vehicle

Length of Commitment

The Red Cross Vans operate locally from 8:30am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday. Out-of-town transportation varies depending on the clients’ medical appointments.

Skills Required

• Non-judgemental, punctual and friendly
• All volunteer drivers must be 19 years of age
• A valid drivers license, and a Driver Abstract and a minimum of two years driving experience
• Must have a valid Emergency First Aid certificate. (Cost will be covered through the Red Cross)

Population Served

In-town transportation includes Sarnia, Point Edward and Brights Grove. Out-of-town medical transportation destinations are to London, Chatham and Windsor
