What VCASL has been doing

Providing an avenue to learn about agencies within VCASL. Members meet at different agencies for meetings. Time is set aside at most meetings to learn about a member agency.

Members inform each other of their own agency upcoming events, i.e. Fund raising or social events.

During Volunteer Week, agencies are invited to participate in promoting their agencies and volunteering. A PowerPoint presentation has been developed as well the website www.volunteersarnia.com

During Volunteer Week, VCASL arranges for newspaper coverage for all participating agencies in VCASL and promotes the concept of volunteering in our community. It’s also an avenue to give thanks to volunteers.

VCASL arranges for the ‘Volunteer of the Week’ segment in the local newspaper. This segment recognizes the individual volunteer, the agency and promotes the benefits of volunteering in our community.

VCASL hosts a Volunteer Recognition Evening during Volunteer Week. This event gives thanks to our volunteers, recognizes agencies within VCASL and promotes volunteering as a whole. The media generally covers this event.

VCASL is building a resource library of materials for member agencies. Agencies are encouraged to add to the resource list.

VCASL has provided speakers/workshops for agency members.

VCASL provides an opportunity for agencies and interested individuals in the Sarnia-Lambton community to network and share ideas and concerns.
