Literacy Lambton Train Your Brain Volunteers

Subject to Ontario Government COVID-19 Restrictions:

Train Your Brain is a FREE play-based learning program for kids currently enrolled in Grades 3 & 4. Children are engaged in various math & reading games/activities to help improve their foundational numeracy/literacy skills and their confidence as a learner.

  • program offered in a 6-8 week window (pending funding)
  • offered either Tu, Wed or Th nights
  • Six sites in total offered in various quadrants around Lambton County
  • 90-minutes in length from 6-7:30pm
  • Head Coach will lead up to 25 kids
  • program supported by site volunteers which can range from teens seeking volunteer hours and a chance to make a difference for a young learner or adults that enjoy helping kids adapting to different learning styles to meet each child where they’re at

Time Commitment: 2 hours per week
Total Days Needed: 1 or 2 days per week

Skills Required: Patience, enthusiastic, reliable, works well with kids, follows instructions
Activities: Under leadership from a program Head Coach, volunteers help prepare and clean up the space, ensure the smooth running and upbeat energy of the program, working with children individually or in small groups to help improve reading and math skills for students in grades 3 & 4.
