VOLUNTEERING: A Great Way To Grow

Relay For Life Sarnia, Event Experience Chair

Posted by on December 10th, 2019

Description

There is a wonderful opportunity to create a meaningful event in your community that celebrates those who have lived, are living, and moving past cancer. The Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life event brings neighbors, friends, and community influencers together, united by the common goal of creating a world where no Canadian fears cancer. The experience of cheering on survivors, walking the track, and joining in a range of trackside activities at Relay For Life (RFL) creates an unforgettable evening!

Event Experience Chair

As an Event Experience Chair, you are a team builder, a problem solver, and an excellent communicator who is connected to and passionate about the people in your community. With your demonstrated ability to successfully manage a team, you will partner with the Community Engagement Chair to provide leadership to the committee. You will engage your team to execute an organized event, with emphasis on event logistics and participant experience. You will prepare pre-event and event day operational plans and support the committee members who report to you. Your portfolio will also include entertainment, ceremonies, volunteer engagement, finance, and impact.

Your committee will meet regularly over the course of the year, with increasing commitments as the event approaches. Each committee member will have their own portfolio but will share a passion for the mission: to provide the opportunity for those affected by cancer to come together and draw support while raising funds for critical, life-saving cancer research and programs.

Interested? Would you like to know more? Please fill out the short form found here and indicate in the box marked ‘Other’ that you would like to learn about RFL committee positions and this particular role. We cannot wait to chat with you about how your involvement will have a positive, long-lasting impact!
