Lambton Elderly Outreach is currently looking for people to aid in their fundraising efforts through Bingo.
Volunteering for BINGO is so easy! Gone are the days of being a ‘runner’ because everything is done electronically so that all that is involved is clearing tables and promoting LEO. A short 30-minute training session is required and 2 hours of your time (hours are flexible) which provides the organization with BINGO shares. It’s a fantastic fundraiser!
Bingo sessions occur two (2), to three (3) times a month for two (2) hours slots.
No handling of cash is required.
Dress code is in effect as per OLG, and OCGA regulations. Black pants and we will provide a golf shirt.
Come out and chat with the players and enjoy time with the other volunteer at the session.
Transport clients to medical appointments, social engagements, and to do shopping/errands. A mileage reimbursement is offered.
As a volunteer in this program you will be providing a needed service and assistance to clients that otherwise would not likely get out. You will have conversation and a feeling of giving back.
Volunteers use their personal vehicle to transport clients, and are reimbursed: mileage is calculated as a return trip from the client’s home to their destination and back.
Requirements:
Pay a friendly visit to a client in his or her home, or by phone. This service is mainly geared to isolated clients.
Make new friends!
Be there to talk, listen, participate in activities, and provide companionship to someone in your community who may not be able to get out to socialize.
Volunteers provide friendly visits to seniors or disabled adults who may be isolated and/or who are lonely. Volunteers are matched based on interest, availability and location.
The volunteer and client will set up their own schedule for visit days and times. The volunteer is required to report any client concerns to the program coordinator.
Volunteers are needed to ensure that seniors continue to receive their check-in calls through the Tel-Check program.
Volunteers are also needed to ensure that when people reach out to the Distress Line, their call will be answered.

Big Bunch Mentors are adult volunteers of good character who share 3 hours every two weeks from October to June within a group mentoring program for children and youth. The Big Bunch program provides girls and boys a mentoring experience in a group setting. This program pairs 2 to 3 mentees from the Big Brother Big Sister waiting list with one mentor. Through regular outings organized by the agency, a relationship is developed between the mentor and mentee as well as between mentees. The program promotes healthy socialization and new experiences for both the mentor and mentee.
