VOLUNTEERING: A Great Way To Grow
Instruct a fitness class for older adults. We will send you to training at the Canadian Centre for Activity and Aging in London where you will learn Senior Fitness instruction.
Lambton Elderly Outreach offers a one hour low impact exercise class for those 60+ based on the design by the Canadian Centre for Activity and Aging (CCAA)
All volunteers go through a training program through a certified trainer from the CCAA.
Classes are offered in various towns throughout Lambton County based on instructor availability. Classes run from one to three times per week. The volunteer coordinator assists with the administration of the program, including obtaining space for the program to be held, and ensuring equipment is kept up to date.
Volunteers are needed to ensure that seniors continue to receive their check-in calls through the Tel-Check program.
Volunteers are also needed to ensure that when people reach out to the Distress Line, their call will be answered.
For over 40 years volunteers have been providing telephone support to isolated seniors and individuals struggling with day to day life challenges in Sarnia Lambton.

Volunteers needed for Juke Box Challenge held each March. We need outgoing, proactive and organized volunteers to join our committee, help plan & work on the night of the event. A community Friend is a volunteer who provides support to children and adults. Each child or adult is paired with a volunteer who shares the same interests. Parent/caregiver receive a short break while their son/daughter enjoys a community based activity with the volunteer.
