Length of Commitment:	July & August 2024
Time Commitment:	2 hours per week ideally same time each week
Total Days Needed:	9
Minimum Age Required:	starting grade nine in September 2024
Training Required:	Yes- BIGS must attend a Mandatory Orientation- Wed, June 26 at 6pm at the downtown Sarnia Library
Training Provided:	Yes- resources and tip sheets provided at the Orientation
Skills Required:	Patient, kind, encouraging nature Avid reader and enthusiastic in modelling the love of reading Prompt, reliable, and committed to the program A great mentor and enjoys spending time with children Creativity to come up with different ways to help Little Buddies learn to read
Activities:	Your mission: to spark the love of reading for a Little Buddy and provide regular reading practice with a weekly meeting BIGS will meet their assigned Littles at the downtown Sarnia library reception. Together with their Little they will find an age, interest, and reading skill-appropriate book (s) and a quiet spot to read. Each Little has 1/2 session. This means that as a BIG you could be paired with up to four Little Buddies each week.

Additional Information:	Teens can receive O.S.S.D. volunteer hours Requirement for adults 18+ to complete online training and process/provide a clear vulnerable record sector check
